GNAWATRONIC

GNAWATRONIC weaves the ritual grooves of Moroccan Gnawa trance music with modern techno dance beats. Tunisian multi-instrumentalist Anis Sehiri serves up beats and loops, and Bay Area native Tim Abdellah Fuson provides Gnawa singing and funky phat riffing on the guinbri (Moroccan bass banjo). Fuson has performed Gnawa music in entertainment and ritual settings for 15 years, both in the US and Morocco, and is currently completing a Ph.D. dissertation at UC Berkeley on Gnawa ritual music. Bringing a deep knowledge of the Gnawa ritual floor to the Bay Area dance floor, GNAWATRONIC offers unique sonic textures and ritual sensibilities for your dancing and trancing pleasure.
